Reviewcap: American Idol in Atlanta

I wasn't able to watch this on the day itself so this review is a bit delayed if you haven't noticed that already.

This time, Mary J. Blige was the celebrity judge. A lot of the people who auditioned were leaning on the "country" genre and, well, I never liked that genre anyway so I wasn't paying much attention to them.

But there were these 2 guys and 1 girl that caught my attention.

Jermaine Sellers was one of them and I thought he was brilliant! He definitely got the voice and that vibe to be a signer. Whether or not he make it, I bet you, he can sing.

Bryan Walker. A cop that can indeed sing. Extraordinary.

And the girl, her name wasn't shown because her exposure was too short. She sang "I have nothing" by Whitney Houston and I really liked it even though it was shown probably less than 15 seconds.

Well, that's all for this recap. Shania Twain will be the next celebrity judge on the upcoming episode.

American Idol Season 9 Kicks off!

Don't you just love American Idol? Well, I do. I missed the show so much therefore I watched the first episode of the season earlier. First day of the auditions was at Boston with guest judge, former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham.

There were some people who stood out to me and one of them was definitely Tyler Grady. I thought at first he was one of those weirdos who likes to make a fool of themselves on television, but I was wrong. So very wrong. There were casts on both of his wrists due to his fall from a tree. Now, the bones on his wrists are now replaced by titanium plates. Kind of sad to think that he's a drummer. He sang Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" and the judges loved it. Especially the girls. He was then given the golden ticket to Hollywood.

I'm gonna keep an eye on him. I hope he gets through even to the top 24.

I also liked Amadeo Diriccio. He's your typical Italian-American and I think he has a good personality. Simon even said that, when he auditioned, it was his favorite of the day.

And the last one I'm gonna mention is Leah Lorenti. She sang "Blue Skies" and I thought she was very good, so she's going to Hollywood.

All in all, there were 31 people who got through to the next round. There were others I also liked but just too lazy to mention.

Can't wait for day 2 of Boston, although I might just watch it on replay. :(

Oh man, I miss Jason Castro of Season 7. And he's married now! *sob* :'(

Sony 'reboots' Spiderman 4

Sony Pictures is "rebooting" the Spider-Man franchise after director Sam Raimi pulled out over fears he could not meet the planned May, 2011, release date while maintaining the film's "creative integrity," Deadline Hollywood reports this evening.
Deadline Hollywood's Mike Fleming was told that this means Raimi and his cast, including Tobey Maguire, are out, and there will be no Spider-Man 4. Instead, the studio will shoot for a summer 2012 release of a script by Jamie Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Darkness Falls) with a new director and cast.
According to the official Sony Pictures press release, the new script will follow Peter Parker's high school years and focus "on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises":
a decade ago we set out on this journey with Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire and together we made three Spider-Man films that set a new bar for the genre. When we began, no one ever imagined that we would make history at the box-office and now we have a rare opportunity to make history once again with this franchise. Peter Parker as an ordinary young adult grappling with extraordinary powers has always been the foundation that has made this character so timeless and compelling for generations of fans. We’re very excited about the creative possibilities that come from returning to Peter's roots and we look forward to working once again with Marvel Studios, Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin on this new beginning,” said Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Brangelina not attending the Golden Globes

It is with great sadness, especially to me, to bring you news that Brad Pitt and the lovely Angelina Jolie will not be attending The Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (Jan 17, 2010). This was confirmed by Brad's manager yesterday morning.

Aww sad. I was waiting for the Golden Globes just because I thought I'd see them on the red carpet. :(

Gossip: Jennifer Aniston will be presenting at the Globes, and they say that's the reason why Brangelina is not coming. Ummm.. Excuse me?
