Looks like this one is true.
While promoting his new film, Public Enemies, he revealed that his dream role was to play musical legend, Carol Channing, who is best known for her role on the Broadway stage as Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. "My dream role would be to play musical legend Carol Channing in a biopic of her life. I love her, I really do. She's amazing," Depp says. "With all the digital technology available these days I could probably pull it off."
Now Depp has already played some of the most bizarre roles anyone could ever imagine, mostly thanks to long-time pal Tim Burton: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sweeney Todd, Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, & The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (to be shown in 2010) just to name a few. So why not make him play a girl this time? More specifically, a 12-year-old girl.
He then adds, "I'd have a go at playing a 12-year-old girl if they asked me to."
Bravo for Johnny Depp. He's definitely one of the actors I truly, madly, and deeply adore.

Yes, that's totally true. I read that somewhere. Haha. I find it weird. He's just too manly to pull it off. But I guess nothing's impossible with Johnny. :D
ReplyDeleteYou got that right. Johnny has this gift where he can turn into any role he wants. :)
